Our Dammusi, History and Charm
I Dammusi del Carrubo are located in the southwest part of the island of Pantelleria, in the district of Scauri, just 1.5 km from the sea.
Dating back to the 18th century, the original structure was once a traditional estate, consisting of the main house, a storage area for capers and dried grapes, a mill for grinding wheat, and a stable for horses. In 2009, the property was carefully restored, preserving its historical architecture while transforming it into four charming dammusi: Carrubo, Maestrale, Libeccio, and Scirocco.
Each dammuso features a private entrance, an outdoor shower, a barbecue, a TV, free Wi-Fi with integrated Alexa, and a midweek change of bathroom linen. The property is about 800 meters from the center of Scauri, which can be easily reached on foot. Here, guests will find a supermarket, restaurants, bars, a bakery, a pharmacy, and various shops.
The location is ideal for exploring the island, with some of Pantelleria’s most beautiful coves just a short drive away.
Finally, all dammusi boast spacious, furnished terraces with breathtaking panoramic views over Scauri and its striking church bell tower. Guests can unwind while admiring unforgettable sunsets, starry night skies, and, on clear days, even catch a glimpse of the distant African coast.
